Facts about the "Buzzard" Patch.
Bill Conway recalls that this patch was designed by several members of the unit at LZ English around early 1967, though a list of names of those involved is uncertain. It seems to have dissappeared again by the end of that same year.
The bird is a buzzard, which likes to fly in search of prey. This, and the red scarf which was worn by the scout crews around this same time, represents the scouts. The lightning bolt and the cloud represent the Command and Control aircraft high overhead.
